While Emily and Charlie knew each other in high school, this love story begins like most classic love stories - with a dance. With the help of one of Emily's friends, Jackie Capilouto, Charlie asked Emily to the Naval Academy Ring Dance in 2012 through a poem packaged as a message-in-a-bottle. Over the next few years, the two kept in touch, but distance and Charlie's training schedule made it hard to reconnect. Fast forward a few years and Charlie found himself attending Navy Helicopter flight training in Pensacola, FL. With New Orleans only a few hours away, Charlie began visiting Emily and other high school friends living in the Crescent City. Against the backdrop of nights on Frenchman, Magazine, and bars in Uptown, Emily and Charlie were finally able to start dating! After six years of long distance, graduate programs and deployments, Emily and Charlie are excited to ring in their marriage with y'all in the city where it all began!
